Nurse crowned North Cotabato Centennial Queen

A NURSE from the town of Alamada was crowned the Centennial Queen of the Province of North Cotabato during the pageant night of the 2014 Mutya ng Cotabato Sunday night.

The 22-year-old Ma. Jemi Keziah D. Arroyo bested 14 other candidates from different towns of the province that is celebrating its 100th founding anniversary.

The pageant night was ‘beauty queen-studded’ with judges including the country’s bet to the Ms Universe 2014 pageant, MJ Lastimosa and previous BbPilipinas winners  Shamcey Supsup-Lee and Ariela Arida. Another BbPilipinas crown holder, Venus Raj, was the pageant host.

Arroyo’s confidence apparently contributed to her triumph. She also wowed the judges and the audience with her performance at the Q and A portion.

When asked what will make her win the crown, Arroyo said it would be her character as a woman who is determined to succeed and overcome obstacles in life.

She said vowed to become a good role model to the people of the province, especially the youth.


The other winners were Charmaine R. Fajanela (1st Runner Up), Clarice Faith V. Tero (2nd Runner Up) Stephanie joy G. Abellanida (3rd Runner Up) and Aleana Grace F. Corpuz (4th Runner Up).


The pageant’s Best in Talent Award was given to Mungan E. Mamparair of the town of Carmen who also won in the online voting as the public’s choice.
